Transportation to Airport from Malaga City Center

Malaga Airport

Malaga attracts a great number of visitors every year thanks to its mild climate and spectacular historical places. This crowded city offers many alternatives for passengers in terms of the transportation.

Buses and trains are the two most important of these among the public transportation vehicles. Taxi and car rental alternatives come to the forefront, especially during late hours, as an alternative to buses and trains.

Walking and renting bicycles are preferred for travelling around the city, but these alternatives are inadequate for the transportation to the airport.

Bus

You can easily arrive at the airport by using the bus route 9, which runs every 30 minutes from the main bus stop next to the main railway station, just in west of the city center. If you are thinking of using the buses, you should remember that they only operate between 06:25 am – 11:30 pm.

The stop named Centro Alameda is generally the first departure stop of all bus routes. This bus stop also provides transportation to other European cities.

Train

You can reach the airport in about 12 minutes by using the line C1 from Centro Alameda Railway Station, which is the main station and located in north of the city center. They operate every 20 minutes and start at 05:20 in the morning and end at 11:30 pm. You can get your ticket from machines at the station.

Hotel Shuttle Services

Many of the hundreds of small and large accommodation centers in Malaga offer airport shuttle service. As soon as you arrive at your hotel, you can obtain information from your hotel whether they provide this service or not. If such a service is available at your hotel and you decide to use it, you should make a reservation in advance.

Taxi

Taxi is a widely-used transportation vehicle in the city. If you decide to reach the airport with the white taxis, you can make a reservation in advance. Your hotel can also help you about this issue. The travel lasts about 20 minutes and the average fare is 20 Euro. They may demand extra amount for your baggage.

Car Rental

You can consider renting a car, especially if you are planning to visit the surrounding villages and towns or cities. You can even rent a car to explore many beautiful beaches in an easy and comfortable way. You can rent your car at the airport after your plane has landed or from the car rental companies located in the city center.

Many hotels have an agreement with the car rental companies or at least they have contact information of these companies. You can ask for help from your hotel about this issue.

If you are going to rent a car during your travel, turn to the link road MA-23, recently completed, and use the exit indicated by the yellow sign on which you will see the word “Aeropuerto” meaning airport.

Airport Information

Malaga Airport is only 8 kilometers of the city center. It has also many transportation alternatives. This airport, located in Malaga, the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, is also known as the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport. At the airport, which has a comfortable environment, there are sufficient number of restaurants for passengers who want to eat or drink something and stores for shopping.

You can make your reservation in advance for the VIP Lounge at the airport if you don’t want to lose time when you have come here. This lounge will make your waiting duration more pleasant and comfortable, especially if you will spend a lot of time at the airport.

Transportation to Bangkok City Center from Airport

Don Mueang Intl. Airport

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Asian continent. The city, which hosted over 25 million tourists last year, has 2 airports. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub. Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012.

Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport

Rail

Suvarnabhumi Airport opened for international commercial flights in 2006. The rail system serves as the main transportation method between the airport, located around 30 km, and the city. The “City Line” is a six-station metro line that connects the airport to downtown Bangkok in 30 minutes. Makkasan Station and Phaya Thai Station are accessible using the Airport Rail Link, which connects you to the MRT and BTS Skytrain.

Phaya Thai is located about 15 minutes away on foot from the entertainment center of the city, the Phat Pong district. You can also get to the Suhkumvit and Silom districts, where luxury hotels are located, from this station by getting on buses 77 and 163.

Khao San Road, where hostels, cheap accommodation options for backpackers, and entertainment venues are located, is a short distance away; you can take buses 201 and 503 and get there in less than 30 minutes. The metro operates from 6 am to 12 am. The trip ranges between 15 minutes to 30 minutes. The metro is located in Terminal B; there are airport bus services available to get to the metro.

Airport Services

There are two minibus lines that depart from the airport and go to Victory Monument. The 550 line operates within the city and the 551 line is an express line that travels on the motorway. These buses depart from the arrival terminals; the stops are located in between gates 1 and 8. Located next to these minibuses are buses and minibuses that go to important residential and tourist areas in the city. Chief among these is bus line 553, which provides transportation to Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo.

Taxi

Taking a taxi from the airport to the city center or tourist areas in the city takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Taxis are located at the departure terminal at the airport, between gates 4 and 7.

If you would rather go through the city than on the motorway the taxi fare ends up being cheaper. Let us remind you that rounding up the fare is extremely usual. If the total fare is 17 Thai Baht and you hand the driver a 20, you might not get change back. The taxi driver could consider it a tip.

The tuk-tuks (three-wheeled rickshaw) you see everywhere in the city are not recommended for long distances. To facilitate easier communication with your taxi driver let us point out that locals refer to Bangkok as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon or Krung Thep.

Rental Cars

There are rental car offices located in the airport arrival and departure terminals. There are 7 rental car offices, most of which are open 24 hours a day. There is one important piece of information to know before renting a car. Thailand drives on the left.
