Transportation to Airport from Karachi City Center
Jinnah Intl. Airport
You can reach Quaid–E–Azam International Airport from Karachi city center by using a bus or minibus. However, using a means of public transportation can make you lose time even though it is the most affordable transportation alternative. If you decide to use a faster transportation vehicle, you can get on a taxi. Renting a car is another option.
Car Rental
There are many car rental companies offering service in the city center. Most of them are local companies. In Pakistan, traffic is generally heavy and complicated. You should drive on the highway N5 and take the Jinnah Terminal Road in order to reach the airport. Quaid–E–Azam International Airport, which is known as Jinnah International Airport shortly, is located 14 km east of the city center. You can reach the town centre from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport with the readily available taxis, buses, or rental car possibilities.
It’s possible to easily reach both Mahebourg and Port Luis from different available routes. The total distance from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport to Mahebourg is 6km, while the capital Port Louis is around 40km from the airport. The buses that take passengers to various central locations leave in certain intervals. If you are to the airport at a later time, it might be a better idea to take advantage of taxis or rental vehicles to reach Port Louis or other destinations.
Private Car

Bus

Another disadvantage, besides the longer time, is that you might have to wait for up to an hour for a bus, compared to the comfort of getting on a taxi as soon as you land and being on your way. Car Rental
There are many car rental agencies at the airport terminal such as ABC, Avis, ADA, Hertz, Sixt, Budget, Europcar and First. It’s practical to rent a car if you want to travel to more than one or two cities. Once you have your car you can quickly reach Mahebourg by taking the A10 or you can reach the Port Louis by following the M2. In order to pick up your car without any problems you should have internationally acceptable travel and driving license documents with you when you go to a car rental agency. The whole process might be easier if you make a reservation online or over the phone before you arrival.
