Transportation to Airport from Brighton City Center

Brighton Airport

Although Shoreham Airport is located in Brighton, London Gatwick Airport is the most suitable airport for your return flight because Shoreham Airport only serves for private flights.

Transportation from Brighton City Center to London Gatwick Airport

You can comfortable go to the airport from Brighton by renting a car. If you prefer public transportation, you can benefit from train option.

Rent a car

After renting an affordable car in Brighton, you can very easily reach Gatwick Airport by driving northward through the A23 road. The average journey takes about 35 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Train

You can reach Gatwick Airport directly taking the Gatwick Express line from Brighton city center. Transportation by train takes about 30 minutes. Train services begin at 6:30 am and continue until 10:55 pm. The station that you will get off is located right next to the South Terminal and it is possible to go to the North Terminal from this terminal through moving walkways. The train ticket costs less than 20 Sterlings.

Airport Information

Gatwick Airport, which is the second busiest airport in London that has five airports in total, is also the ninth busiest airport in Europe. The airport has two terminals as the South Terminal and the North Terminal, which are connected to each other with 0.75-mile long automatic moving walkways.

You can find something tasty to eat at one of 10 cafés, 9 bars and 22 restaurants and more in the entire airport. There are about forty shopping stores at the airport for those who want to spend time shopping. In addition, you can also enjoy the tax-free shopping at the duty-free shopping store.

There are four different lounges at the airport and you can take advantage of these comfortable lounges no matter which airline company you are flying with. Aspire Lounge is in the North Terminal and the Business Lounge is in the South Terminal. Entrance fee for My Lounge at the North Terminal is £20. No. 1 Lounge serves both at the South Terminal and the North Terminal and the entrance is £35. If you book in advance for each lounge, you will be charged a reduced rate of 6-7 Sterlings. There are many free mobile phone charging stands at the airport. In addition, you can benefit from the free Wi-Fi network for 90 minutes. There are also free stands for newspapers and magazines.

Transportation to Cadiz City Center from Airport

Cadiz Airport

There is no airport in Cadiz, which is a port city. While the closest airport is Jerez Airport, Sevilla International airport is preferred as it has more inbound flights.

If your plane is landing at Jerez Airport, the airport is around 45 km away from Cadiz. It’s possible to get to the city by taxi but this would cost you 50 euros. It's possible to reach Cadiz in 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions by renting a car and following the A4 highway. You can easily find car rental agencies in the baggage claim area. The cost of the car may depend on the type, size, and extra features of the car, but it’s possible to rent a car per day for 11 euro. You can also reach Cadiz by taking the train from the station to the west of Jerez Airport. The journey takes 46 minutes.

There are also shuttle buses going from the airport directly to Cadiz. If the prices of these shuttle buses seem to high for you, then you can take this or the taxi to the city centre, and then continue by public bus services once you are there. The total travelling time can go up to 1 hour.  

If you decide to reach Cadiz through Sevilla International Airport, then the most comfortable and practical alternative is to rent a car. You can find car rental agency desks in the ground floor of the main terminal. If you take the AP4 or A4 road you should reach Cadiz in about an hour and a half. There is a train station quite close to Sevilla International Airport. By using the free services from the airport, you can reach this station and from here take a train going to Cadiz. There are frequent departure times from this station and the journey takes approximately 2 and a half hours. Buses going to Cadiz don’t leave from the airport but you can take a bus or taxi to the city centre and take a bus going to Cadiz from there. The journey by bus to Cadiz from Sevilla city centre takes around 2 hours. You can get to central Sevilla for 30 euro by taxi or 4 euro by bus.

When planning your journey you shouldn’t forget that taxi fares are higher during the weekends in Spain, and that they charge extra for each of your luggage items. You will also need an internationally recognised drivers licence to rent a car.
