About Lilongwe

Lilongwe, the capital of the Republic of Malawi in the south-east of the African continent, is the largest city in the country, with a population of about 810.000. The city, which emerged as a village built by the locals, became an English colony, then joined the city of Zambia, and became the capital city in 1974.

There are many shops and cafés where you can spend time in the commercial center areas of the city, where poverty generally prevails despite the capital city status. The city does not have a seaside, but you can visit Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa with a 80 kilometers width.
