The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Jacksonville City Center from Airport

You can easily reach the city centre from Jacksonville International Airport by taking a taxi or using the shuttle services available. Find out whether your hotel provides shuttle services.

If planning to hire a vehicle during your trip, you can get a deal with one of the car rental companies located in the airport and drive to the city centre. If you prefer public transportation, the metrobus is a viable alternative.

Taxi

You can find a taxi stand downstairs at the arrival terminal’s baggage claim area. The journey to the city centre takes on average 15 minutes.

Car Rental

There are 7 different car rental companies in the airport. You can save time by reaching an agreement with a car rental company prior to your flight. Your rented vehicle will be parked at the ground floor of the airport car park facility. Take the Interstate 95 North (I-95 N) from the airport to the city centre. You can reach the city centre in 17 minutes in normal traffic conditions.

Bus

It is possible to get to the city centre in about an hour and a half by using buses 3 or 51 from the bus station outside of the arrivals terminal, and then by transferring to bus no. 1.

Shuttle Service

The shuttle service providers are located downstairs at the baggage claim area. You can reach the city centre comfortably with a shuttle service. A limousine service is also on offer for travellers that enjoy luxury. Be aware of chauffeurs that are not employed by the airport’s authorized service companies.

Hotel Shuttle Service

Some hotels in Jacksonville pick up guests that have already reserved a room in advance from the airport. Some hotels provide this service free of charge, but this service can also be costlier than a taxi.
